Mr. Kendrick Deshawn Talbert, 29, of Galesburg, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly at 11:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026, near rural Kirkwood, Illinois, as the result of an automobile accident.
Born on December 30, 1996, in Galesburg, Illinois, Kendrick was the son of Hillary Talbert III and Wendy (Harding) Pigg.
He graduated from Galesburg High School North in 2015 and was known for his kind heart, infectious sense of humor, and the love he shared with those closest to him. Kendrick’s presence brought joy to family and friends, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Kendrick was employed at Aluminum Castings in Galesburg, where he was known as a dedicated and hardworking employee who was always willing to pick up extra shifts and lend a helping hand wherever it was needed.
He enjoyed spending time at the gym and proudly showing off the results of his hard work. He loved watching races, documentaries, and learning about history. Kendrick was the type of person who always had a random fact to share and was never afraid to ask someone to “pull up the receipts” when discussing a topic. He was proud of his heritage, his roots, and being a Black man. He also took pride in the way he dressed, especially his collection of cowboy boots and his personal style.
Kendrick lived life unapologetically and often said, “I love who loves me.” Above all else, he was most proud to be a father. His children were the center of his world, and he loved his family and friends deeply.
Kendrick is survived by his parents, Hillary Talbert III of Oklahoma and Wendy (Harding) Pigg of Galesburg, Illinois; his four children, Damani K. Revis, Khyree D. Talbert, K’Liya M. Talbert, and Noah G. Haynes, Three of his children were born to Kendrick and Aaliyah Revis and were lovingly raised alongside his longtime girlfriend of four years, Destiny Haynes, whom he affectionately called “Munchie Moo Moo.”
He is also survived by his sister, Hailey Pigg of Galesburg; siblings, Hilliary Talbert Jr., Hillary Talbert IV, Trenton B. Talbert, George J. Talbert, Delilah J. Talbert, Gloria J. Talbert, Micah E. Talbert, Najm T. Talbert, Gabriel E. Talbert, Nolvi R. Talbert, Cheyenne, Jessica, Chas, Michael, Denise, Kenya, and Symone, along with many other siblings from both sides of his family; his maternal grandparents, Lori Akers and Everett Harding; aunts and uncles Karysa Taylor, Malik Morris, Jeremy Harding, and Elias Chezum; lifelong friends, Tylan, Kenyan, Tony, and Latrell, who were like brothers to him; Mrs. Cookie and Mrs. Monique, and many other extended family members and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Loren Akers and M. Elaine Akers Harrison; his great grandfather, Phil Harding, father figures, Edd Pigg and Kenneth Essex; and his grandmother, Ira Britt. Those who loved Kendrick find comfort in knowing he will be welcomed with open arms by them and the many loved ones who have gone before him.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services, Galesburg Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made in Kendrick’s memory to establish a fund for the benefit of his children.
