Richard “Butch” E. Osborne, 82, of Macomb, IL, formerly of Monmouth, IL, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at his home.

He was born September 2, 1943, in Monmouth, the son of Max and Mary (Chick) Osborne, growing up in the Bushnell-Prairie City area.

Richard served with the United States Navy from 1960-1962 on the USS DuPont, DD-941. 

Richard married Jeanette Larson on May 29, 1964, in Harvard, IL, and she survives.

Richard was a truck driver for his entire working career.

He enjoyed motorcycles, camping, golfing, and taking long drives. His family was the most important aspect of his life.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Osborne; his children, John (Pam) Osborne, Rich (Linda) Osborne, Vicky (Jason) Hulsey, Jenny (Steve Nelson) Osborne and Dan (Sandy) Osborne; his grandchildren, Heather, Max, Morgan, Greg, Jessica, Sarah, Melissa, Stephanie, Ashley and John; 22 great-grandchildren; his siter, Kathy Robison; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Aspen Osborne; his brother, Joe Osborne; and his sister, Millie Goldsmith.

Cremation has been accorded.  A private family interment will take place at Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to make a memorial donation to their charity of choice and sent to the funeral home.
