High school football season will be here before you know it, especially with teams getting started a week earlier this year due to the new IHSA schedule.
One local team ready to get back on the field is the United Red Storm, who are looking to bounce back after a 1-8 season last year. The Red Storm return plenty of talent, and Head Coach Andrew Goodwin says there is a lot to be excited about.
“We’ve got a really large freshman group coming in, almost 30, which is really nice from where we were. Numbers should be up. We have a lot of kids coming back. We have 90 percent of our production on offense coming back. We have seven starters on defense coming back. Our sophomore group, when I started here, they’re all seniors now, but every single one of them has had significant time on Friday nights. It’s an exciting time in our program.”

United will kick off their season August 21st on the road at Bureau Valley.
