2026 Knox County 4-H Fair Cattle Show

On Monday, July 13th, the Knox County 4-H Fair held their Heifer show, where many exhibitors were there to compete for the champion position, and then move on to show at the Showdown.

First up was the Angus class. Overall, Alexis Main, with Walnut Grove Progressors, received Breed Champion. With reserve Breed Champion going to Luke Thurman with Delong Livestock.

Charolais Composite, with Shay Powell, with Delong Livestock, receiving Breed Champion.

Charolais Heifers, with Breed Champion going to Anna Link, with Rio Livestock.

Chianina Heifers, with Bread Champion going to Mackenzie Upton, with Delong Livestock and Reserve Breed Champion going to Lauren Johnson with Walnut Grove Progressors.

Hereford Heifers with Breed Champion going to Ryker Bowman with Wataga Trailblazers.

Limousin Heifers with overall results coming to Breed Champion going to Vincent Alfred with Williamsfield Town and Country, and Reserve Breed Champion going to Zachary Alfrey also with WilliamsField Town and Country.

Main Anjou Heifers, with Breed Champion given to Mackenzie Upton with Delong Livestock and Reserve Breed Champion going to Emma Billeter also with Delong Livestock.

Maintainer Heifers, which included Breed Champion being given to rowan Main with Walnut Grove Profressors, and Reserve Breed Champion going to Tucker Onion with Williamsfield Town and Country.

Shorthorn Heifers. These 3 classes had 6 exhibitors and the results came to Mackenzie Upton with Delong Livestock receiving Breed Champion and Wravenna Johnson with Walnut Grove Profressors receiving Reserve Breed Champion.

Simmental Heifers, with the final results coming to Breed Champion gong to Luke Thurman with Delong Livestock and reserve Breed Champion going to Charlie Thurman also with Delong Livestock.

Simmental Low Percent Heifers ended with Emma Billeter, with Delong Livestock receiving Breed Champion and Sadler Spring, with Delong Livestock, receiving Reserve Breed Champion.

Commercial Heifers, with the overall being Breed Champion Cal Shrives an Reserve Breed Champion going to Graham Link with Livestock.

Powell Wins Grand Champion Overal Heifer 

Overall, the results came to 5th overall going to Luke Thurman with a Simmental Heifer, 4th overall going to Alexis Main with a Angus Heifer, 3rd overall going to Cal Shreeves with a Commercial Heifer, Reserve Champion Heifer going to Rowan Main, and Grand Champion Overall Heifer going to Shay Powell. 

2026 Knox County 4-H Steer Show

After a lunch break, the Knox County 4-h Steer Show starts up, starting with the British AOB breed, with Sadler Spring with Delong Livestock receiving Breed Champion and Addalyn Cain with Rio Livestock Receiving Reserve Breed Champion.

Next up, we have the Charolais Composite breed, with Lola Link with Rio Livestock receiving Breed Champion and Charles Thurman with Delong Livestock receiving reserve Breed Champion.

With the AOB breed, we have two classes of exhibitors with Addyson Onion receiving Breed Champion and Vale Main receiving Reserve Breed Champion. 

The last group of Steers includes the Crossbreed Steers, with Cal Shrives receiving Breed Champion and Scarlett Schleich receiving Reserve Breed Champion.

Overall, the Steer winners include 3rd overall Crossbred Steer being Fletcher Onion, 4th overall Crossbred Steer, Sadie Link, and 5th overall Crossbred Steer given to Shay Powell. 

Onion Wins Grand Champion Steer

The Grand Champion Overall Steer goes to Addyson Onion with an AOB Breed. Reserve Champion Steer goes to Vale Main, 3rd Overall Steer goes to Lola Link, 4th Overall Steers goes to Cal Shreeves, and 5th Overall Steer goes to Scarlett Schleich.

Ending with the showmanship awards, we have Mackenzie Upton won the Senior Showmanship Division. Rowan Main won Intermediate and Zac Alfrey won Junior.
