Sharon E. (Phipps) Witt, 79, of Galesburg, IL, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, IL.
Sharon was born May 24, 1947 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of Hillard and Bettie (Hook) Phipps. She was raised and educated in Monmouth.
Sharon married Russell E. Witt on May 7, 1979 in Viola, IL. He proceeded her in death on June 10, 2001.
She was a homemaker who cherished the time she spent with her family and took pride in being present for those she loved. Sharon was a dedicated member and enjoyed attending Calvery Assembly Church in Galesburg, IL. She was also an avid reader, especially Christian and Amish books. Sharon also loved to go on walks and looking for all the great deals resale shopping.
Surviving Sharon are her siblings; Stanley (Sherri) Phipps, Steven Phipps, Pam Widener, Ronald Phipps, Larry Phipps, Danny Jo Phipps and Rita Yocom; several nieces and 2 nephews; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her parents and her husband.
Graveside Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at Monmouth Cemetery, Monmouth, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials can be made to the Calvery Assembly Church in Galesburg and can be sent to the funeral home. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
