Deborah “Deb” Bradbury, 74, of Galesburg, died unexpectedly of natural causes at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, August 16, 2026, in the emergency room of OSF St. Mary Medical Center.
She was born June 29, 1952, in Morrison, Illinois, the daughter of Lester A. and Ruth G. (Shibley) Schroeder. She married M. Shane Bradbury on December 6, 2003, in Galesburg.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 23 years, Shane; daughter, Terri (Chad) Irish of The Villages, Florida; son, Troy (Chrissy) Miller of Rochester, Minnesota; grandchildren, Keegan and Katie Irish, Audrey (Tyler) Anderson, and Emersyn, Wrigley, and Addisyn Miller; sister, Cathy LaFollette of St. Louis, Missouri; brother-in-law, Greg (Cheryl) Bradbury of Mesa, Arizona; sisters-in-law, Mary Lynn Bradbury of Quincy, Illinois and Sherri Miller of Savanna, Illinois; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Tyler Mansicka; mother-in-law, Mary L. Bradbury; and brother-in-law, Jerry Miller.
Deb was raised and educated in Chadwick, Illinois, where she graduated from high school. She attended Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg while working on EMT training. She operated a home daycare and worked at Admiral in her early years. For many years, she enjoyed cleaning houses with her best friends Lana Albright and Donna Ross. Many will remember Deb as the non-food manager at the former Eagle Grocery Store. She held that position from 1980 until 2003, at which time she went to work for Bridgeway. She retired from there in 2018 after 15 years.
Deb attended and was a member of First Lutheran Church for many years. Recently she has enjoyed attending Grace Anglican Church. Deb was an avid walker. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids, and her beloved cats, Dora and Boots.
Cremation will be accorded. No public visitation or service will be held as the family will honor Deb’s life privately. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, American Cancer Society, or the animal shelter/rescue of the donor’s choice.
