Ila was a very active member of the Lutheran Church in Monmouth.  Ila worked as an administrative assistant for Illinois Power for over 40 years. Following retirement, she volunteered for the American Red Cross and traveled extensively to aid those in need.  Ila loved her nieces and nephews like they were her own children and always gave them some of the best gifts on birthdays and Christmas!  She enjoyed reading romance novels and was very talented at painting landscapes, among many other things.  She loved the seasons and holidays and enjoyed decorating for every occasion!  Easter was one of her favorites, and she always invited all her family Easter dinner, a tradition they all cherished.
