This Saturday, September 26th, the Regional Office of Education #33 is teaming up with OSF HealthCare to host a Car Seat Safety Check event in Monmouth. Rebecca Petentler, Preschool Family Educator with the ROE, says the event is for all caregivers who may have questions about car seats:
“We are very excited to bring a Car Seat Check event to the community. It is a free event. It is for all families to attend and caregivers. If you are a first time parent or not; or if you are an aunt, uncle, child care provider, grandparent, foster parents, we welcome everybody to attend. If you transport a child in your vehicle at any time, please come. We are there to help show you how to do it the right way,” informs Petentler.
“At ROE #33, we are really fortunate that we currently have ten certified child passenger safety technicians. We partner with the communities in Knox County, Warren County, and even Mercer County. We partner with OSF very closely. We also partner with a couple of the police departments as well,” Petentler adds.
The Car Seat Safety Check event will be held from 10 am to noon on Saturday at 321 East Euclid Avenue in Monmouth, the parking lot of the Headstart location.
