The Regional Office of Education #33 has received federal grant funding to reopen local Head Start programs under their administration. Director of Strategic Planning and Operations, Jodi Scott, says enrollment is underway:
“We have been working over this last year to get Head Start up and running, as well as all of our state-funded early childhood programs. We have four Head Start locations; three classrooms in Monmouth on Euclid Avenue, two classrooms in Bright Futures in Galesburg, three classrooms at the old Churchill building in Galesburg, and we have a classroom in Abingdon. All of those spaces we are getting up and running. We are welcoming in our Head Start families and recruiting additional Head Start families. We do still have openings in our Head Start.”
Students and their families will find upgraded facilities and new playgrounds at the ROE’s Head Start locations.
