Monmouth College is rolling out a new financial aid program called Scots Pledge that will cover the full cost of tuition for qualifying incoming first-year and transfer students beginning in the Fall of 2027. Associate Vice President for Student Financial Services Jayne Schreck explains how the program provides opportunities for students:
“It is addressing the full cost of tuition. We are offering financial aid to families and guaranteeing that those families who make under $100,000 a year, adjusted gross income, whose children have a 3.25 GPA or higher, and who qualify for the Illinois MAP Grant and the Federal Pell Grant, that in combination with Monmouth money, it will cover full tuition. This really addresses the family’s financial concerns and the hesitancy to enroll at Monmouth when they see a sticker price,” says Schreck.
“This breaks it down to stop worrying about the money and come and explore what we have to offer. Come work with faculty, have small class sizes, travel abroad, be involved on campus in 100 different clubs, or develop a new one if you want to. It really is giving back to our backyard and makes this an affordable option. It is for freshman and transfer students,” Schreck adds.
Schreck informs that the FAFSA application is now open and encourages them to file to determine their eligibility for the Federal Pell Grant and the State of Illinois MAP Grant. Completing the FAFSA is required for consideration for Monmouth College’s Scots Pledge program.
