William Eugene Doran, age 71, of Carman, Illinois, passed away Monday, September 14, 2026 at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington. He was born July 23, 1955 in Burlington, Iowa, the son of William Henry and Dorothy Lee Dooley Doran.
Bill retired from J.I. Case Company after many years of employment, where he served as a Union Steward for over fifteen years. He was a graduate of Dallas City, Illinois High School. Known as “Wolf” to his close friends, he loved going to the Pink Tavern in Lomax every morning to visit and catch up on all the local gossip. He was an avid sports fan, always cheering for the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and the University of Illinois Fighting Illini.
Survivors include three daughters, Jessica Doran of Lomax, IL, Sybil (Michael) Baxa of Chicago, IL, Aly (Chris) Johnson of Mediapolis, IA, five grandchildren, Hannah, Henry, and Hudson Pierce, and Josie and Alex Baxa, and one sister, Jackie (Dennis) Willson of Burlington, IA, one niece, Megan (Jeremy) Shipman, and two nephews, Ryan (Megan) Hassel and Denny (Jen Stinocher) Willson, and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, William H. Doran and his mother and step-father, Dorothy and Jay Anderson.
