Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending September 27th, 2026:
The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is sophomore boys golfer, Liam Parker. Liam was the highest placing Titan at the Three Rivers Athletic Conference Championship meet at Emerald Hill in Sterling. He shot a 90 for 27th place out of 90 total golfers. Consistently the low scorer for the Titans the entire season, Liam was 12th at the 1A Titan Invite earlier this year.
The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior girls golfer, Paige Christianson. Paige shot an 18-hole score of 83 at the Lincoln Trail Conference Railsplitter Championship meet at Lake Bracken in Galesburg. That put her in 2nd place overall and on the LTC All-Conference 1st team. Earlier this season, Paige tied for 2nd with an 83 on her home course of Gibson Woods in the United Red Storm Open.
The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is senior girls golfer, Miley Stimpson. Miley was the top placing Heat golfer at the Lincoln Trail Conference Railsplitter Championship tournament at Lake Bracken in Galesburg. She carded a 109, good enough for 12th place. Earlier in the week, Miley was 5th in a meet at Soangetaha Country Club in Galesburg.
The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is senior golfers, Ella Herchenroder and Aidan Nelson. Ella is the Western Big Six Conference girls champ, shooting an 82 at Lake Bracken Country Club. Aidan was 2nd at the Western Big Six Conference championship meet at Oakwood Golf Course, shooting an even-par 71. Later in the week, Ella was 3rd at the Silver Streak Invite, with Aidan placing 12th on the boy’s side.
The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is sophomore girls golfer, Addison Engstrom. Addison placed 15th at the Lincoln Trail Conference’s Railspliter Championship meet at Midland Golf Club in Kewanee. She shot an 18-hole score of 112. That total gave Addison the new school record for girls golf in the process.
