The Monmouth City Council has passed an ordinance that will change part of the restricted residential parking on West 1st Avenue by the Monmouth-Roseville High School to public parking, informs Operations Director Ken Helms:
“In the 300 block of West 1st Avenue, by the church and the high school, we had residential only parking there and it has been that way for years; however, now we need to open a little bit of parking for visitors to the school. Police Chief Switzer talked with the school district, they made the request and we decided to back off some of the residential only parking. The houses there on the corner still has residential only, but now there is a gap from the corner of the church to the entrance to their parking lot that we made open for public parking.”
