According to Monmouth-Roseville Superintendent Ed Fletcher, the Board of Education has granted the district permission to join in a Social Media Litigation:

“There are school districts across the country who have filed suit against social media companies. What we want to be a part of is getting social media companies to change the way they market and engage with minors. Now, from the district’s perspective, there is no cost to us. Costs will come out of the lawsuit. The Board felt it prudent that we be a part of this because social media, I think we all can safely say that social media has not been good to kids. We figure if we can do our little part as a school district to let our parents know that we want to try and keep our kids as safe as possible. If that means being a part of this, just in name only, we felt it was important to be a part of.”
