Charlotte Ann Swiler, 76, of Monmouth, IL passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at her home.

Charlotte was born December 12, 1948, in Monmouth, the daughter of William and Shirley (Borman) Miller. She was raised and educated in Alexis, IL, graduating from Alexis High School in 1967.  She later earned a certificate as a Dental Hygienist. 

Charlotte married the love of her life, Glen E. Swiler, on August 7, 1971 at the Norwood Presbyterian Church, Alexis and he survives. They first met on a hayrack ride and continued their love of the outdoors throughout their 53 years of marriage.  They also enjoyed attending a variety of sporting events of their children and grandchildren.  When not attending events, they enjoyed watching birds on their deck, fishing, and spending time with family.

Charlotte worked as a Dental Hygienist for 10 years. After that, Charlotte’s main focus was being a homemaker and taking care of her family.

She was a prominent member of the Norwood Presbyterian Church where fellow members indicated she “Loved Her Lord”. Her love was displayed through volunteering and donating to the church. She was also member of the CC Club.  She loved living in the country, reading, sewing, cooking, listening to Andy Williams, and spending time with her grandchildren.  She also had a love for sports, especially basketball and football, and was always willing to remind others of how she won a 3-point contest.

Survivors include her husband, Glen Swiler; her children, Matthew (Calena) Swiler of Monmouth, Adele (Jay)) Malcolm of Milan, IL, Andrea (Fred) Gandy of Joliet, IL and Scott (Laura) Swiler of Monmouth; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 3 siblings, Laura (Dave) Creek of TN, Phil (Cheryl)Miller of OK, and Joyce (Johnnie) Soffel of IN; several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the Norwood Presbyterian Church, Alexis, IL. Interment will be at Norwood Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 pm, Friday, February 7, 2025, at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth.  Memorials may be given to the Charlotte Swiler Memorial Fund and sent to the funeral home.
