Planting season is upon us and farmers have been busy getting ready to hit the fields. Bayer technical agronomist Lance Tarchione shares that the dry winter has helped farmers get fieldwork done ahead of planting.

“The dry conditions that we have given good opportunities to do spring fertilizer work, some spring tillage, to get more anhydrous on if you needed to do that, there’s even a few brave souls have planted a few soybeans. I know a lot of oats have gone in for people that are still raising oats, some alfalfa has been seeded- so we’ve had a good spring for getting Springfield work done, which is nice,” says Tarchione. “People should be set up and ready to go on planting. If you’re planting equipment is not ready to go yet, don’t, don’t panic. Just because some guy on the internet has some beans planted doesn’t mean you have to. We’ve got plenty of time to be timely planting yet.”
