Monmouth College hosted Beloit for a 3 game at Glasgow field this past weekend. Beloit sat atop the Midwest Conference standings going into game 1 on Saturday, the Fighting Scots only a half game back. In game 1, Monmouth didn’t score until the 6th inning, when they put up 2 runs but they are able to come out on top, 2-3. The Scots didn’t have the same fortune in game 2, dropping this one 16-6. The series comes down to game 3 at Glasgow Field. The Fighting Scots kept it interesting by giving up 3 runs in the top of the 9th but they hold on to win game 3, 10-7. With the win, the Scots now jump Beloit but fall behind Lawrence in the Midwest Conference Standings. Sports Information Director at Monmouth College, Nathan Baliva, explains the Wild West that is the Midwest Baseball conference this year.

Monmouth College sits .5 game back from first place Lawrence with 3 games to play. The Fighting Scots will be on the Road at Ripon for their 3 game series finale this weekend. If Monmouth is able to win this series, they will most likely lock in a spot in the conference tournament. If they sweep Ripon, the Scots could be coming home to host the Midwest Conference Baseball Tournament.
