Warren County Public Transportation is expanding. Beginning July 1st, Mercer County is going to be added into the service area, which also brings the opportunity for riders to make their way to the Quad Cities, explains Director Morgan Lewis:

“As of July 1st, we will be bringing in all of Mercer County into our service area. So, that means if you want to go to Aledo or someone from Aledo wants to come here, we can do that. We are also going to include daily trips to the Quad Cities, so if someone has a doctor’s appointment, we can take them there. We will be switching to a mileage base, and we will have this a little closer to the July 1st date; you are looking at roughly from here, if you are paying out of pocket, about ten dollars one-way to get to the Quad Cities, that is where we are ball parking. It could be under that, or if you have Medicaid, we are looking to get Medicare within the next month, and other insurances in the Marketplace to help cover for transportation. So, if it is for a medical appointment and you know this, if you set it up more than a week in advance, that will be completely covered, and you get a ride up there for free.”

Lewis informs Warren County Public Transportation will have a home base in Mercer County come July 1st at the Highway Department facility, allowing drivers to begin trips in Mercer County. Additionally, eight new busses have been added to the transportation fleet, with four new minivans arriving before the July 1st expansion.
