Knox County Deputies Arrest Local Registered Offender

Knox County Sheriff Jack C. Harlan Jr. would like to announce the arrest of a Knox County local registered offender, Chad W Davenport (45 y/o WM) of Altona IL.

On April 29th, 2025 Knox County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division was made aware of a local registered offender that was soliciting minors for sexual favors.

Chad W Davenport (45 y/o WM) of Altona IL was taken into custody on April 30th, 2025 and booked on the following charges:

Grooming (720 ILCS 5/11-25(a)) – 2 Counts

Indecent Solicitation of a Minor (720 ILCS 5/11-6) – 2 Counts

Failure to Register as a Sex Offender (730 ILCS 150/3)(a)

Sheriff Harlan wants to highlight the importance of our continued monitoring of registered offenders, and proactive efforts of Knox County Sheriff’s Office to stop those who prey on minors. Our office remains dedicated to the protection of the children throughout Knox County.

All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
