Facilitating industrial and residential growth opportunities in Monmouth is the goal of the Maple City Area Partnership for Economic Development (MCAP). With new Board members joining, Executive Director Andrea Monroe explains the areas of focus:
“We just got done with our strategic planning. We had our Board members switch over, just kind of starting fresh with our top three strategic plan items. We are really working on business retention and expansion, branding, and workforce development. We are trying to work with a small business development center to be doing a workshop for ‘how to start a business in Illinois.’ We are talking about maybe even doing two, so one in Spanish and one in English.”
Chris Gavin is the Chairman of the MCAP Board, along with Hannah Maher as Vice President, Tiffany Cole as Treasurer, as well as Eric Johnson, Josh Gibb, and Stephanie Hilten.
