Johnny Lee Strickland, 63, of Abingdon, died at 7:50 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025, at home with family by his side.

He was born September 20, 1961, in Galesburg, the son of Betty G. (Curtis) Strickland and William Sowers.

He is survived by his siblings, Jay (Joni) Strickland of Galesburg and Linda L. Bent of Abingdon; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Donald Kilpatrick, Jack Strickland, and Wanda Krans.

Johnny loved playing Bingo and enjoyed all his Bingo friends. He loved to watch T.V., especially Friends, soap operas, and the Weather Channel. He had a special fondness for Batman.

Cremation will be accorded. He will be laid to rest with other family with a private ceremony in the Abingdon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to OSF Hospice.
