Ken Springer, President of the Knox County Area Partnership for Economic Development (KCAP) and Board President of the Knox County IL CEO program, has had a busy summer. Last month, KCAP wrapped up its annual meeting with a record number of attendees. Now, attention turns to the Knox County CEO program, which is preparing to launch its eighth year in just a few weeks. Springer shares more on what the CEO program entails.
“The CEO program takes juniors and seniors in high school, and over the course of the year, teaches them how to be entrepreneurs and how to be professionals. Students enter the program, just like any other sixteen or seventeen year old, but by the end of the program, they understand how to operate a business, they understand how to communicate like a professional, and they will have gotten to see fifty, sixty different businesses in the region.”
