Mr. Dale Raymond Malone, 86, of Abingdon, Illinois passed away at 4:10 am Friday, October 24, 2025, at Seminary Manor Nursing Home.

Dale was born December 4, 1938, in Cedar Township, Illinois the son of Willard E. “Red” and Myrtle (Landon) Malone. He married Janet M. Beck on June 14, 1959, at the Christian Church in Abingdon. She preceded him in death on February 20, 2025.

Dale is survived by a daughter, Cathy (and Bill) Emeis of Tualatin, Oregon; a son, Roger (and Mary) Malone of Victoria, Illinois; a brother, Donald Malone of Abingdon; six grandchildren, Tracey, Meghyn, Whitney, Molly, Doug and Miranda, and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Timothy, Elbea, Kenneth, Willard, Richard and Robert and sisters, Joyce Simms, Dollie Brock and Mary Erwin.

Dale graduated from Abingdon High School in 1956 and went on to work for the family farm for over 35 years as well as for Farm King for 17 years. Dale loved to spend his time outdoors, fishing and hunting. He was known for making homemade ice cream and enjoyed eating what he made. Dale and Janet served as the committee chair for the Village of London Mills for the Scenic Drive, where they had their Copper Kettle Apple Butter stand for many years.

Visitation is scheduled for 4:00-6:00 pm Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday at the chapel with Pastor Khris McMillan and Pastor Bob Malone officiating. Memorials may be made in Dale’s name to the United Methodist Church of London Mills. He will be laid to rest next to his wife, Janet, in the Abingdon Cemetery.
