To date, Jamieson Community Center Executive Director Nancy Mowen reports 978 families have been served through the food pantry in 2025, with usage anticipated to increase in December due to children being out of school for winter breaks. Mowen shares the items of greatest need:
“Wherever you are, think about your local pantries and help support them either with monetary donations or nutritious food. We are looking for canned vegetables, fruits, proteins, canned chicken, canned tuna, beans are a great source of protein, peanut butter, and grains, especially whole grains.”
On December 3rd, 4th, and 5th, WMOI/WRAM’s 25th Annual Freezing for Food event is taking place at Save A Lot Food Store in Monmouth from 10 am to 2 pm each day, benefitting Jamieson Community Center and the Roseville Helping Hands Food Pantry.
