The Carl Sandburg Chargers men’s basketball team is out for revenge this season after missing out on the Arrowhead Conference title by a single game a year ago. The Chargers are looking to make another run at the conference crown for the first time since tying for the title in 2023-24. The last outright title for Sandburg came in the 2017-2018 season.
Sandburg has challenged themselves early with a tough nonconference schedule and currently sit at (6-6) overall. With only a handful of nonconference games remaining, Head Coach Ryan Twaddle says he likes what he’s seeing, especially from the local players on the squad.
The Chargers have three more nonconference matchups before the end of the calendar year, before opening Arrowhead Conference play January 8 with a road game at Kishwaukee.
