The Monmouth-Roseville Titans wrestling team had a strong week as the postseason draws closer. The Titans competed at two meets last week, and Athletic Director Jeremy Adolphson recaps how the team performed.
“Good week for them. Last Tuesday they had Senior Night, Knoxville and Riverdale came to town. Silas Chung, one of our seniors, got a nice win there. We also had wins from Landon Peterson, Keegan Smith, and Diego Gutierrez that day. Then Friday and Saturday at the Bob Mitton Invite, kind of a tune-up for the regional, since regionals have been moved up this year. Keegan Smith and Landon Peterson both brought home first place.”
Adolphson also added that in his 14 years with the program, no individual has ever placed first at the Bob Mitton Invitational.
With the regular season now in the rearview mirror, the Titans will turn their attention to regional competition this Saturday, January 31.
Monmouth-Roseville will compete at the Camp Point Central Regional. Seeding and match times will be announced later this week and shared in upcoming sports reports.
