With harvest season getting closer, United Superintendent Tom Hawkins is reminding drivers to use extra caution on rural roads.
Hawkins says the district has students and families traveling from several different areas, and large farm equipment will soon be sharing many of those same roads.
“We’re getting close to that harvest time, and with the large equipment on the road, I have a lot of high school drivers that are driving from all sections of the county and other counties to get to school. I just want them to be safe on their way to school, and same with our parents who are driving their students to school. Be wary of those large ag vehicles on the road, and just be patient. Leave on time so you get to school safely.”
