Western Community Public Transportation is helping residents get to medical appointments, potentially at no cost. Eligible riders may qualify for insurance-covered, non-emergency medical transportation, explains Director of Transportation Morgan Lewis:

“We are working with three different providers, Transdev, Modivcare, and MTN is our newest one. These are brokers that deal with medical insurance. The concept behind this is anybody that has Medicaid, Medicare, or low-income insurance, if they have a doctor’s appointment that is approved by their insurance, you can call and get transportation. Now, the difference is when you have medical transportation, you can’t bill it after, so you have to get it pre-approved. Once it is approved, we will come pick you up, take you to your appointment, bring you back home, even stop at a pharmacy, and it is 100 percent covered by your insurance.”

Western Community Public Transportation connects riders throughout Warren, Mercer, and Henderson Counties, with extended routes to the Quad Cities, Galesburg, Burlington, Muscatine, and Iowa City. To schedule a ride, call 309-734-6001.
