The fall sports season at Monmouth College kicks into high gear this week, with all nine teams in competition from Tuesday through Sunday afternoon.
Sports Information Director Nathan Baliva highlights a couple of the key contests, including Wednesday’s volleyball home opener against Lincoln Christian University, as well as the women’s soccer team’s Sunday home date against the nationally ranked University of Chicago.
“Cross country has a rare night event Wednesday at Illinois Wesleyan,” Baliva said, “and volleyball has its home opener the same night. Fans are reminded that masks will be required inside the Huff Athletic Center at all times.
“Sunday’s home opener for the women’s soccer team against the University of Chicago should be a great event. They (University of Chicago) reached the Sweet Sixteen in the last national tournament (in 2019).”
