The City of Galesburg will host a public meeting on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. at King Elementary School, for citizens to provide input on the proposed improvements at HT Custer Park.

The City of Galesburg was awarded an Open Space and Land Acquisition Development (OSLAD) grant in 2022 to make improvements to HT Custer Park. Proposed improvements include a playground, picnic shelter, restrooms, multi-use walking path, bicycle training, parking, and a rain/butterfly garden. Through the OSLAD grant award, $400,000 of this project will be paid for by OSLAD grant funds, with the remaining $400,000 paid for by the City of Galesburg.

At the public design workshop, Farnsworth Group will be presenting examples of imagery of potential facilities and amenities for feedback from attendees. The Director of Parks and Recreation and City Engineer will also be present to answer questions and provide information. All citizens are welcome and encouraged to join the meeting to plan for the future of HT Custer Park. For more information, please contact Elizabeth Varner, Director of Parks and Recreation, at 309-344-3140.
