Judy L. Champion, 81, of Monmouth, IL passed away at 4:18 pm, Saturday, February 18, 2023, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, IL.

Judy was born May 9, 1941, in Osage, IA the daughter of Louis and Myrtle (Toms) Novak.  She was and educated in Mitchell, IA and moved to Grafton, IA where she graduated from Grafton High School in 1958.  She later attended Wartburg College, Waverly IA and then Hamilton Business College, Mason City, IA.

Judy married Delmar Champion on January 18, 1959, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA and he survives.

Judy and Delmar founded, owned and operated the Penny Saver in Monmouth beginning in 1973 until 1988.

She enjoyed gardening, traveling in their motorhome and her Lake Warren retreat. She also enjoyed her time in Mesa, AZ. She also loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and her great grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Delmar Champion of Monmouth; her sons, Scott (Janice) Champion of Mooresville, NC, Todd (Kris) Champion of Monmouth and Matthew J. (Pam Smith) Champion of Peoria, IL; 5 grandchildren, Corey (Hayley) Champion, Lyndie Champion, Mandy Champion, Kaylie Champion and Maggie Champion; 6 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Susan Novak in AZ and Barb Groth of St. Ansgar, IA, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister, Cindy Novak. 

A private family interment will take place at Warren County Memorial Park, at a later date.  No visitation hours or other services are planned. In leu if flowers memorials may be given to the Judy Champion Memorial Fund which will be used toward Autism Awareness.
