Sheri E. Meehan, 55, of Galesburg, died at 7:26 a.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born July 1, 1967 in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of John L. and Brenda L. (Perry) Stambaugh. Sheri was a stay-at-home mom of her six children as they were growing up. She married LaRue J. Meehan, Sr. on January 22, 2007 in Kentucky.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, LaRue Meehan; three sons: John Powell, Tim (Janelle) Powell, and Nick Powell; two daughters, Elizabeth Powell and Sara Calvo; and eleven grandchildren. Also surviving is her mother, Brenda Perry; one brother, Marvin (Donna) Hughes; and two sisters, Amanda Stambaugh and Patti Stambaugh. She was preceded in death by her father, two brothers, and a son-in-law.

Sheri absolutely loved traveling with LaRue to go to rendezvous re-enactments, especially those going back to the 1800’s. They both really enjoyed watching the re-enactments together and going to various flea markets and auctions. Sheri will be deeply missed.

Cremation will be accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later time. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
