Woman Pleads Not Guilty To Killing Former Maquon Police Chief

A Maquon woman is pleading not guilty to charges in the killing of former Maquon police chief.  Marcy Oglesby appeared for a preliminary hearing yesterday on charges of first degree murder, attempted murder, and aggravated battery by administering dangerous substance.  Knox County prosecutors say in 2021, Marcy Oglesby poisoned Richard Young by putting eye drops and other substances in his food and drink, and gave him an antidepressant without his consent.  She also concealed his death by placing his body in a box and locking it in a storage unit.  The human remains were discovered in October in the storage unit in Maquon.
