The Illinois Prep Top Times Meet took place at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington over the weekend. Though not recognized by the IHSA, the event is widely known as the high school indoor track and field state finals. Class 1A events were run on Friday night, with Class 2A and 3A all day Saturday. Local athletes that earned medals in class 1A on Friday night include West Central’s Kaiden Droste, who placed 5th in the 200 meter dash, 6th in the long jump and also participated in the 60 meter dash. What a weekend for Stark County’s Lindley Johnston. She won the 200 and 400 meter dashes and also garnered a 5th place medal in the high jump. Monmouth-Roseville High School was also represented at the meet in the 2A division on Saturday.
