Mark S. Bell, 65, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 4:50 a.m., Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at his home.

He was born on January 13, 1958 in Monmouth, IL, the son of Robert and Linda (Conners) Bell.  Mark was raised and educated in Monmouth and attended Monmouth High School.

Mark married Penny Logsdon on June 5, 1994 in Monmouth, IL; she survives.

Mark was a cook for a couple years at Shoney’s in Springfield, IL.  He later worked at Western Stoneware in Monmouth for several years.  He most recently worked at the Daily Review Atlas delivering newspapers.  Mark enjoyed watching old time movies and listening to his oldies.  He loved making his tea and eating his snack cakes.  Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, he especially enjoyed picking on his nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and his grandchildren. 

Surviving Mark is his wife, Penny Bell of Monmouth, IL; six children; numerous grandchildren; two brothers; one aunt, Margaret Whitsell of Galesburg, IL; one uncle, Don Bell of Monmouth, IL;  and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Joe Bell; one brother, Jeff Bell; two nephews, Matthew Bell, Jr. and Martin J. Bell. 

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Memorials can be made to the Mark Bell Memorial Fund and sent to the funeral home.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth is in charge of the arrangements.
