United Red Storm Girls Track Team Brings Home Multiple Medals from IHSA 1A State Finals

The United Red Storm girls track team placed 10th in the team standings at last weekend’s class 1A IHSA state finals in Charleston, Illinois. The Red Storm were led by three relay teams that claimed top 4 finishes. The 4×100 team of Alycia Haun, Emrick Huston, Katie Flynn and Reece Bertelsen earned a 2nd place finish in Saturday’s finals. Their time was just .05 from garnering a state title. The 4×200 team of Haun, Bertelsen, Katie and Rosie Flynn placed 3rd and the 4×400 team of Huston, Katie and Rose Flynn and Bertelsen crossed the finish line in 4th. Bertelsen added another medal, her fourth of the weekend, with a 7th place finish in the 200 meter dash.
