American Family Insurance Agent Carol Shaw, Monmouth American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries Holding U.S. Flag Giveaway on June 30th

Share

The Second Annual United States Flag Giveaway will be held Friday, June 30th, at 9:30 am out front of American Family Insurance Carol Shaw Agency, 702 North Main Street. Along with the Monmouth American Legion, Shaw explains how this community service project came to be:

“I was trying to come up with a community service project and just to be very honest, one day I was driving to work and I noticed a flag blowing in the wind and I thought how pretty it was and thought wouldn’t it be nice if we saw more flags flying in our community. I reached out to Annette Manthai, she and I are friends and I knew she was involved with the local VFW and Monmouth American Legion Auxiliary, and we put our heads together and she helped me purchase the flags. This is our second year doing this.”

The first 25 people will receive a brand new American flag to fly. If you have an old flag, feel free to bring it along for a proper retirement.
