Larry L. Rigg Sr., 78, of Galesburg, died at 8:30 p.m. Friday, August 4, 2023, at home.

He was born July 2, 1945, in Galesburg, the son of Garl H. and Ethel M. (Davis) Rigg. He married Nancy Bowers on December 18, 1965, in Galesburg.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 58 years, Nancy; a son, Larry L. (Debbie) Rigg Jr. of Texas; a daughter, Peggy Barton of Galesburg; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Marjorie Elliott and Tonya Sheldon, both of Galesburg; and a brother, Johnny (Robbie) Sheldon of San Diego, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and two sisters.

Larry was a self-employed general contractor/builder/remodeler for many years. He also served with the Galesburg Emergency Police for over 20 years. He lived in Germany for eight years, where he graduated from KS High School, then studied structural engineering there.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday, August 14, 2023, at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the family. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services of Galesburg is honored to serve the family.
