National Farm Safety and Health Week is occurring during the week of September 18, 2023. To honor this event, AgriSafe Network is releasing ten free webinars on different topics regarding safety in agriculture on their website.

AgriSafe Network is a national 501-C3 non-profit organization that works to educate healthcare professionals, as well as agricultural communities about health and safety, especially pertaining to the agricultural field.

Laura Seagull, Health Communications Officer for AgriSafe Network, came to speak on this offered event.

National Farm Health and Safety Week is honored to recognize the dangers of working on the farm. The theme of AgriSafe’s featured webinars is “No one can take your place,” recognizing that while it can get busy on the farm, and farmers can get caught up in their work, it is important to take care of oneself, and to make sure that safety is an important factor during their work.

Laura gave three tips for safety on the job, stating that “Sleep deprivation is just as bad as being drunk.” She also mentioned that eating well and wearing the proper gear is important to stay safe while farming.

Webinars featuring topics like ATV safety, infectious disease, equipment safety, and more can be found at AgriSafe.org/NFSHW.
