Frances A. Kondrat Callaway Anderson, 95, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 8:05 a.m. Friday, September 1, 2023 at Allure of Knox County, Galesburg.

Frances A. Kondrat was born on August 25, 1928, in Chicago, Illinois to Konstantine and Frances Kondrat. Frances had one brother, Constantine. All three preceded her in death.

Frances attended Loretta, Englewood High School in Chicago. She worked at Marshall Fields and Libby, Mc Neil and Libby. Frances was a practicing Roman Catholic. She married Arthur V. Callaway on October 30, 1948. To this union four children were born: Kathy, Robert, Barbara, and Richard. Frances was a devoted wife and mother. After 30 years of marriage, Arthur preceded her in death in January 1979.

On May 16, 1981, she married John Anderson in Chicago, Illinois. They shared 42 wonderful years together. John was a caring, dedicated, and loving husband to Frances.

Frances made everyone feel special. She had a unique gift for remembering people’s birthdays, anniversaries, and other occasions. She would always send cards to family and friends. Frances had a wonderful sense of humor and a way of making people laugh. She was the life of the party. Her home was Thanksgiving central for over 30 years. On the holiday people would come from near and far to be part of this fun filled gathering.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband, John Anderson, four children, Kathy Doyle (Brendan), Robert, Barbara, Richard ( Twymenia); four nephews; Michael (Chris), William (Kelly), Tom (Ellen), and Larry (Debbie). Eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and host of great nieces and nephews.

Frances will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2023 at St. Casimirs Lithuanian Roman Catholic Cemetery, Chicago, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catholic Charities USA. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
