C. Robert “Bob” Hatch, 84, of Galesburg, died at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2023, in Seminary Manor.

He was born June 20, 1939, in Galesburg, the son of J. Walter and Mildred S. (Roe) Hatch. He married Ruth Ann Hoffman in 1965 in Davenport, Iowa. He later married Marjorie Davis in 1974 in Davenport. She preceded him in death. He then has a special friend Maggie Peterson.

He is survived by three nieces, Sue Mathews, Debbie Keith, and Brianna Mallum; six nephews, Fred Hatch, Jim Hatch, David Hatch, Danny Hunt, Larry Hatch, and Grant Hatch; great nieces and great nephews; a stepson, Scott Davis; a stepdaughter, Cindy Boyer; five step grandchildren and 10 step great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Russell, Leslie, George, Fred, and Carl (Eldon); four sisters-in-law, Carolyn, Arlene, Martha, and Edith; and two nieces, Sharon Lonas and Linda Petrie.

Bob worked in accounting and tax prep with Einfeldt and Associates for 42 years before retiring in 2019. He graduated from Abingdon High School in 1957 and attended Monmouth College for two years and Western Illinois University. He graduated from AIC Business School.

In his spare time, Bob enjoyed golfing and listening to music. He also enjoyed dining out with family and friends. He was a member of Our Savior Presbyterian Church in LeClaire, Iowa.

Bob was a veteran of the United States Army Reserves.

Cremation will be accorded. The family will host a Celebration of Life Service at 11 a.m. Monday, November 6, 2023, at the First Apostolic Tabernacle, 562 W. North St., Galesburg. Inurnment will be in the Abingdon Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to First Apostolic Tabernacle in Galesburg.
