Glenna L. Machado, 80, of Biggsville, IL, passed away at 10:30 am on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at her home.

Glenna was born on December 26, 1942 in Oakland, MD, the daughter of Lester & Marilyn (Probts) Loughry.  She was raised and educated in Oakland, MD and graduated from High School in 1960.  Glenna later earned her Master’s Degree in Psychology from Cal State in Bakersfield.  

Glenna married George Machado on February 4, 1974 in Reno, NV; he survives.

Glenna first worked as a Deputy Sherriff in California for a time.  She later drove team with her husband for many years with Machado Trucking.  She enjoyed learning and going to school.  Glenna loved to breed and raise her Persian cats.  She showed them all over the country and ran a successful cattery, “Demigod Cattery” for many years.  Glenna was an avid reader.  She liked to scroll Facebook and visit with her family and enjoy a cup of coffee with a cigarette.       

Glenna is survived by her husband, George Machado of Biggsville, IL; her children, Leah (Michael) Foster of Hornbrook, CA, Michael Machado of Oquawka, IL,  Martin “Greg” Machado of Biggsville, IL; her grandchildren, Alishia Machado of Keokuk, IA, Jayden Machado of Indiana,  Antonyo (Jessica) Machado of Burlington, IA, Raymond York of Burlington, IA; four great grandchildren, Atheina Machado, Kieran Machado, Eli Alter, Bruce Alter; two sisters, Vonda (Royce) Moorland of Oakland, MD, Millie Hutzel of Oakland, MD; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.    

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Memorials can be made to the Glenna Machado Memorial Fund and can be sent to the funeral home.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.  For more information or to leave an online condolence, please visit www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com
