The United High School Volleyball team’s season has ended after a loss in class 1A sectional play. The Red Storm hosted a class 1A regional, defeating West Central in the semifinal match in straight sets, before taking down West Prairie in three sets to take the regional title. This regional title win for United would send them to the 1A Princeville sectionals, where they would match up with Lincoln Trail Conference powerhouse Annawan who sat at 27-6 coming in to the match. The Red Storm would give the Bravettes all they could handle, but ultimately fell in three sets to the eventual sectional champs. After a great season for United volleyball, Athletic Director Jeremy Sharp says the Red Storm will look to come back even stronger next season and vie for a spot in the IHSA state tournament.

The Red Storm finished their season with an overall record of 22-13, and 9-2 mark in the LTC. Minus the COVID shortened schedule of 2020, United volleyball has amassed 20 plus wins in each season since the birth of the program back in 2004.
