Sandra Kay Hanley, 70, of Galesburg, died at 9:10 a.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Marigold Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Galesburg.

She was born February 2, 1953 in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of James F. and Josephine A. (Shawgo) Hanley. Sandy worked at Casey’s in Galesburg for 13 years. She was an avid reader and quite the lover of books, especially romance novels. Sandy enjoyed playing scratch off lottery tickets.

Sandy is survived by dear friend, Susan (Ricky) Wilder; two brothers: Don (Rose) Hanley and John Hanley; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Hanley; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Richard, James, Eugene, and Victor Hanley; and one sister, Josephine Gash.

Cremation will be accorded. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to www.watsonthomas.com.
