Gary J. Bishop, 76, of Wildwood, MO, formerly of Monmouth, IL passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024 in Wildwood, MO.

Gary was born October 6, 1947 in Monmouth, the son of William Trevor and Lois Edna (Nicolaides) Bishop. He was raised and educated in Monmouth, attending Monmouth High School.

Gary served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Gary worked at Wells Pet Food, Mach 1 Boats and Exide before retiring in 2009.

He enjoyed fishing, woodworking. metal detecting and belonged to a metal detecting club.

Survivors include his son, Nicklaus (Heather) Bishop of Waterloo, IL; 5 grandchildren, Brandon Bishop, Samantha Gregory, Sawyer bishop, Kaden Bishop and Kollin Bishop; his sister, Vicky (Mike) Saeger of Bellevue, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm, Friday, February 23, 2024 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. Cremation has been accorded.
