Mary Davis Staff Members Injured in Juvenile Fight

At 2005hrs, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a fight in progress at the Mary Davis Detention Home. Dispatch further advised that at least 10 juveniles were actively battering staff. Multiple agencies responded, including; Galesburg Police Department and the Knoxville Police Department.

Upon arrival, entry was made and mulitple juveniles were secured and returned to their cells. Multiple staff members were injuried and some were transported to the hospital due to their injuries.

At this time, the scene is secure and all juveniles are accounted for.

The investigation is ongoing.
