Sharon K. Heatherly,79, of Monmouth, IL passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at her home.

Sharon was born November 11, 1944 in Monmouth, IL the daughter of Louis Wallace and Gertrude Louise (Ortery) Chenault.  She was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School in 1962.  She later graduated from Carl Sandburg with nursing degree and Hamilton Tech after computer training.

Sharon married Larry Heatherly in Kirkwood, IL on August 16, 1974 and he passed away on January 23, 2022.

Sharon worked in Florida as an accounts receivable clerk before moving back to Monmouth. She was of Christin faith, enjoyed crocheting and did everything.

Survivors include her 2 sons, James Dean Vestal of Galesburg, IL and Ricky Lee Vestal of Florida; 2 grandchildren, Courtney Vestal and Ricky Lee Vestal, Jr; and 1 great-granddaughter, Olivia Bouie; her sister, Shirley Caldwell of Monmouth and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and siblings, Bob Chenault, Jack Chenault, Tom Chenault and Patty Stokes

Cremation has been accorded and no services are planned. Memorials may be given to the Monmouth American Legion and sent to the funeral home.
