For the first time, bird flu is turning up in dairy cattle. Both the CDC and U.S. Department of Agriculture say they’ve confirmed it in cows from dairy farms in Texas and Kansas. Avian flu has been impacting bird flocks in Europe, Asia and America for the past few years causing illness and death. The cattle findings come just days after goats on a Minnesota firm were diagnosed with bird flu. The U.S. agencies say bird flu in cows should not have a major impact on milk prices because there’s a sufficient dairy supply.
