Mary M. Schisler, 93, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 4:23 p.m., Sunday, April 21, 2024 surrounded by her loving family in Dunlap, IL. 

She was born August 19, 1930 in Joy, IL, the daughter of Rube and Lener (Buster) Kersey.  She was raised and educated in Monmouth and attended Monmouth High School.

Mary married George E. Schisler in Monmouth on November 27, 1947 and he died February 23, 1996.

She worked at Western Stoneware for 24 years as a finisher, the Manville Nazarene Camp as the Food Service Director for 8 years and later at Western Illinois Home Health as a chore worker and finally at Midwest Bank in Monmouth as a custodian for 6 years until her retirement.

Mary was a hard worker, extremely talented cake artist, amazing cook, kind, selfless, and stubborn as a mule. But most importantly, she was a woman of incredible faith, a prayer warrior, a faithful servant of God, and the most amazing example of a Godly woman. She loved fiercely and prayed fervently. She was a member of the Monmouth Nazarene Church and later Countryside Bible Church and was currently a member of Highpoint Church in Monmouth.  

Survivors include her children, Sarah Marshall and Wanda Schisler both of Monmouth, IL; Louis (Maria) Schisler of Deering, ND; her daughter-in-law, Kathryn Schisler of Streator, IL; her grandchildren, LaTasha (Dave) Parsons, Troy Schisler, LaVonne (Gary) Gilbert, LaDonna Schisler, Thomas Schisler, David Schisler, Lou Schisler, Kenneth Schisler, Amanda Marshall, Jason (Gabby) Marshall, Justin (Debbie) Marshall, Amber (Christopher) Straitiff; her great grandchildren, Ellie Marshall, Mary Marshall, Abby Marshall, Hannah Marhsall, Sawyer Straitiff, Jackson Straitiff, Lucas Straitiff, Olivia Marshall, Lexi Parsons, Jonathan Gilbert, Jeremiah Gilbert, Austin Mashall, Dristan Schisler, Maia Schisler, and her sister Sally Goff of Marietta, GA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; her son, Everett Schisler; nine brothers, Elza Kersey, Jake Kersey, Pat Kersey, Fred Kersey, Arnold Kersey, Raymond Kersey, Alvie Kersey, Ova Kersey and Ralph Kersey; and two sisters, Ethel Carrier and Bonnie Kersey.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 26, 2024 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory in Monmouth.  Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth, IL.  Visitation will 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 25, 2024 at the funeral home.  Memorials may be given to Highpoint Church in Monmouth.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.  For more information or to leave online condolences please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com.
