Monmouth City Council Approve Road Closure Related to Midwestern Pet Foods Construction

Share

Midwestern Pet Foods in Monmouth has requested a road closure from City Council as they replace their roof and add new equipment at the plant, explains City Administrator Lew Steinbrecher:

“They are in the process of investing about a half a million dollars om replacing about 7,500 square feet of roof on their main plant. While the roof is off, they also need to have a large crane to remove some old, existing food processing equipment from the building and install new equipment. Then they will put a new roof back on that area of the plant and then also have two penthouse structures on top to help protect the top of the equipment on top of the new roof. They had requested that they be able to close South D Street from May 15th through May 31st and this would be during normal working hours, 7 am to 5:30 pm, because they do need room for both the crane and the safety of lifting up the roofing materials as well as the equipment that needs to be removed and new equipment installed.”

Monmouth City Council approved the request of temporarily closing South D Street during the construction project.
